The Australian and Queensland governments provide funding to organisations to deliver the Rural Financial Counselling Program throughout rural Australia by employing rural financial counsellors in key regional areas.
RAPAD is auspicing the Rural Financial Counselling Program for Queensland's
Central Southern Region. This is delivered through the registered business Rural Financial Counselling Service Queensland - Central Southern Region.
About the Program
The RFCS Program aims to help primary producers, fishermen and small rural businesses identify ways to become self-reliant and better equipped to manage change and adjustment.
Rural Financial counselling is a free service and is independent of financial institutions, welfare agencies and government. The Australian and Queensland governments provide funding to organisations to deliver the programme throughout rural Australia by employing rural financial counsellors in key regional areas.
Rural financial counsellors do not provide family, emotional or social counselling, financial advice or succession planning services - but they can provide referrals and information.
The client makes the decisions: it is up to the client to choose which option is right for them. The rural financial counsellor will help clients develop some options and will provide support with their decision-making using an action planning approach.
