RAPAD Skilling commenced as The Australian College of Outback Tourism (ACOT) - a partnership between Industry, Remote Area Planning and Development, and Education Queensland, with support from the Australian and Queensland governments.

Following the need for carriage of the project, RAPAD Skilling developed with a regional focus to meet the demand for quality training. It delivers quality Tourism and Hospitality training, creating a capacity in the region to further develop tourism operations with an Outback focus.
 
RAPAD Skilling became a national recognised Registered Training Organisation (RTO - provider number 32295)
